Aint horror

Ok, so terminator 2 is showing here now, and it's down to the steel factory bit towards the end, and I see something that I'm reminded that I'm really pissed off by....well, not the thing itself, just something that DIDN'T happen.
Before T3 came out, I was sure, I mean SO fucking sure I knew how they would make the storyline continue past #2, now, after having seen #3 a while back, I'm convinced now that it's downright STUPID that they didn't use this clearly OBVIOUS idea.
(And no, it's NOT that the t1000 could have reformed if ever the molten steel cooled down)
Just watch t2 again sometime for those that don't have it memorised...Look at the condition the ?t800101? (Arnie) is in at the end of the film while being lowered into the molten metal....he's missing an arm that he wrenched off after having
it stuck in some big gear/cog thing = perfect opening for #3.
So...each and every time I see t2 or t3 again, I'm reminded of this - pisses me off.

Something else funny I just noticed - how the fuck did he give the thumbs up while sinking? Assuming he wasn't instantly liquified, (which he wasn't, hence his ability to GIVE said thumbs up) If he let go of the chain, wouldn't he have fallen backwards, not sunk slowly down steadily in a relatively upright position?

in reply to question 2, his foot was still on the hook...

or, dont read too much into it, it's an emotional part, and you arent supposed to be paying attention. choose your answer :)

I actually read the novelisation of the movie (based on the original screenplay, not the final), and in that, john actually runs back to the belt/cog and grabs the destroyed pieces just to make sure. i dont think they worried about it in the movie because, really, could you rebuild a car out of a bent axle and a steering whel? no. And a terminator is A LOT moer complicated than a car.

3 was a pathetic attempt to make money off of a franchise who's time has left. Jim Cameron has specifically stated SEVERAL times that the terminator series was meant to be a 2 parter, not a trilogy.

if the man who dreamed it says that 3 wasnt supposed to happen, then it wasnt supposed to happen. I am not sure i will ever sit through t3. This actually confirms a fear of mine:

That i may someday sell a great screenplay that is made into a great movie, and then ends up with a piss-poor, straight to video sequal directed by some loser or has-been with no talent.

If i ever sell one, and they hire Renny Harlan to direct, i will put a contract out on him. i am not kidding, that guy SUCKS.
