Unofficial 1980s Horror Movie Tournament

I was looking through the forums yesterday and I saw a tournament published a long time ago about 80s horror movies, so I thought I would re-launch a similar idea. Basically, there will 6 sections with three parts each (except slashers which will have five parts because the 1980s was the Slasher Age), the sections will be Slasher, Sci-fi Horror, Supernatural, Stephen King, Classic monsters (i.e vampires and werewolfs), and Zombies. You will vote for one film in each section, then after we have gone through all the sections, we will vote for which is the best of these. Finally, we will the vote for the all-time best. So, at the end, we will have the best in each sub-genre, as well as the best of the 1980s. The first film with five votes wins. I will reveal my pick after the winner is revealed or if there is a tie (me being the tie-breaker). Well, I hope this sounds interesting because I don't want this thread to die after all the work I put into it.

It appears we have a winner for round 1. The results were:

A Nightmare on Elm Street: 5 (V, dsmith87, Rela1024, horrorfangirl66, and sculpt)

Clive Barker's Hellraiser: 1 (straker)

Child's Play: 1 (MichaelMyers)

Thus, A Nightmare on Elm Street is the winner (congratulations Freddy)!

My vote would have been for Clive Barker's Hellraiser, but A Nightmare on Elm Street is a great choice, as well.
