Great Tales of Terror and the Supernatural (Modern Library) The Dark Descent That should get you started. Sfear will probably show up with some good recommendations. It depends on what kind of horror you like.

I know Stephen King's an obvious one, but Black house is one of my fave books ever, and thats full of gore. this one genuinely scared me hah.
As is the one I'm reading at the moment. its an e-book called the Children of Manson. Its been really good so far- sex is implied but again, full of gore, and good concept behind it too. hmmmm others... For something a little more old school classic horror "The pan book of horror stories" is a good one. its all short stories but i liked them. no gore though really... its got the old fashioned syle to it. genius in its own way in my opinion. will try to think of some more.
