Technical Issues

Unlike most of the tech problems I post here, this one does not relate to computers. Well, it could but in this case it doesn't. In short, my TV stopped properly showing a picture the other day. With a bit of research I've deduced that it's a problem with the Backlight Inverter. The TV is a fairly obscure make.

Will I need a part specific to the make or will any part do?
Is it even worth trying to repair it or should I just get a new TV?

Unless your television is worth over $1,000 or is still under warranty, I would get the television replaced.

What sort of TV is it? I think LCD TV's use backlight inverters...

Not as dangerous as fixing a CRT TV at least :-)
