Favorite stand up comedian(s)?

I'd have to say mine is Lewis Black. His cd's get me laughing my ass off on every listen.

Alot of these guys you are mentioning rely on sight gags, Mitch Hedberg was good though. I was thinking more in terms of comedy cd's as I haven't seen too much live stuff.

Some of mine right there.

I also like Steven Wright, Dane Cook, Chrissy Burns, and Heywood Banks.

I don't like much political humor anymore though. I used to be into politics in a HUGE way but it's caused a lot of problems and I've realized a lot of things over time and I'm tired of it.

I'll have to agree with you on Lewis Black - his "always near a heart attack with rage" schitck is hilarious, IMO - and he's intelligent enought to make some great points with his humor.

Another one of the same calliber is Bill Hicks- full of rage, filthy, and hilarious.

Exactly the opposite but incredibly funny is Steven Wright- deadpan delivery of mostly one-liners that are so twisted they make you bust up at their outrageous outlook.

Exactly. Bill Hicks was really good too. These guys are more my type of humor. Steven Wright is only so-so for me, but if you guys like him, have you ever tried listening to Todd Barry?

Sam Kinison was pretty fucking funny too. Has anyone liistened to "Louder than Hell"?
