technology killed horror

I was thinking, maybe technology can be blamed for killing horror. Maybe the reason a lot of the old horror movies seem to be better is because now adays we have better technological advances. Like cell phones, in the past it was more believable that somebody was stranded somewhere, because they didn't have cell phones or a palm piolt to use to call for help. Like in Halloween Resarection, with the whole internet instant message to the palm piolt, tho give hints about where in the house Michael is. Come on. But that is just my opinion.

Independent movies are the key I think. Have you seen Horror in the Attic (The Attic Expeditions), Cube, Cradle of Fear? Awesome movies.

I thought Cube 2 was good, just a bit too derivative of the first one. Handicapped person, old lady, crazy guy who kills/attempts to kill someone, etc. I liked the fact that the traps were downplayed in favor of time shifts and whatnot. But Cube is by far the better movie.

As for horror being dead...how? They're being made, some of them are good or even great. So instead of going on about whatever bullshit theory you have on what killed horror, maybe you should give your bullshit theory on how it's dead.

Cube is awesome! I wanted it to get somewhere, but loved all the drama and emotion.

As for horror being dead. You are here, right now. Do we seem dead to you?

One more thing about Cube: You'd think it'd be easier to get a movie that currently has 2 different versions in print than it is to get a movie that was never in print. But noooooooooo. I got A Face in the Crowd pretty easily, but I've had more problem getting a copy of Cube than anything else. Ever.
