Fear In Your Reality

So I know this is a horror forum and everyone likes to sound like nothing frightens them (Rayne) but i'm curious as to what sorts of things scare the hell out of you.

I'm afraid of farms at night. Particularly my grandparents in southern Georgia. There are coyotes everywhere and they come up to the house sometimes so you can't go out after its too late alone because they'll getcha!

I'm afraid of homeless people sometimes. I'm always scared one will molest me or shoot me or something because I always walk the 10 blocks to the library at like 9 pm to do some work, so i'm usually alone in the street.

Ticks are the nastiest thing in existence. Christ they're gross. They sicken me. I don't understand why God invented them anyway. What purpose do they have? They suck blood and get fat because they don't understand proper dieting.

Diseases of course are my greatest fear. Horrifying that your life could be forever altered for something that an immune system might not save you from.

This thread however isn't really about diseases or hobos. I'm curious as to what kinds of physical places/situations scare you. For example, i'm alone in my lover's house right now and it's on a farm in bumfuck nowhere. This area has had many armed breakins recently. While it's easy to say "Oh please i'd just blow that fuckers brains out"... Let's be realistic. While there is a shotgun in this bedroom, i'm not sure how to even use it. Anyway, discuss!

I fear failure, big time. Especially pertaining to school. My little sister is gifted, so I have rediculous expectations put on me. That's turned out good though cause now I don't have less than 88% in any of my classes. I'm mostly in the mid 90s. and have been given grants because of it.

I fear clowns, the circus, fairs and amusement parks. All for no good reason.

Mostly just failure though. Failure at school, at jobs, at relationships. Like all of those things depend on doing well at the others in a way. If I fail at my relationship I will lose the will to do well at school and get a job. I need to do well at school to get a good job. If I get a good job I can get an apartment, get married have kids.

Spiders, the bigger they are the scarier they are to me, although I don't even like the little ones on me. Spider webs are nasty too.

Heights, if there is any way I might fall. For example, I can't walk up to the edge of a cliff, but I can do the crab-skuttle up to the edge and then sit on the edge with my legs dangling over.

Im afraid to die the thought of death scares the hell out of me. I've always been afraid of christianity too and the bible alot of the stuff in there scares the shit out of me because of all the signs that its the end of the world and stuff. I know alot of christians think the end times are great because they cant wait to go to heaven but i love life on earth.

More than anything right now I fear losing my job. When the price of gas was V-2ing out of control, boat orders slowed. Now that gas is coming down, orders have almost stopped. I'm very scared.

I'm terrified of bees. I break out in a cold sweat and can barely move or think when one comes near me.

Heights: In a movie if they are up on a building, I break out in a cold sweat.

Deep water. I love the sea and I find pretty much anything underwater more fascinating than things above water, but deep water scares the hell out of me. I have an idea of what lives down there, and its a bit too much. HEAVY fear of the unknown.

And its cliche, but its true, anything happening to my kid.

Big groups of people, even if I'm related to them.I have social anxiety.

Another one is things malfunctioning.I hate it when computers or DVD players don't play how they are supposed too.I get really angry.I've gotten better at it though, but I still fear going back to where I once was.

All I can think of at the moment.I haven't been up long.

Heights is probably my achille's heel. It used to be spiders, but I somehow managed to push past that one. Bree is horribly arachnophobic, but she does everything she can to not make an issue in front of Lily because most phobias are learned, not inherent. Lily isnt afraid of anything really, and we hope to keep it that way.

My niece used to not be afraid of anythign, then my stupid sister, against my suggestion, started freaking when a bee or wasp would get near. Whithin a week, my niece would start crying and screaming if eve a fly got too near.

Suppress your fears around you kids, people. Break the cycle. Bugs and spiders need to be respected, not feared.

On the heights thing, its especially bad with games. the under-bridge portion of half-life 2 actually triggers a more real fear response in me than Ravenholm. Which brings me to a very real and completely retarded fear of mine:

Zombies. Not voodoo-drug uinduced real life zombies, but GA Romero, hordes of canniballistic dead peopel zombies. Its not as bad as it used to be, but i used to wake up from nightmares (as an adult) and be terrified to look out the window because i expected to see dead people wandering around.
