Prey

Has anyone else played this?

I have been playing it for 3 days now, and it is suitably creepy. It uses the Doom3 engine as well as Doom3 did; its perfect for the atmosphere of the game. I am about 4 hoursinto the game, and it is awesome. i cant believe i didnt pick this up sooner. The creatures are imaginative and pretty scary, especially when they jump out of nowhere. The Spirit walking is inspired, as are the walkways that allow you to walk on walls and cielings. The rooms that require you to change the direction of gravity are incredible, and last night i was in a room being attacked from all sides by the ghosts of little girls! One of the creepiest gaming moments to date.

if you havent played it yet, I HIGHLY recommend it. I think you can get it over Steam, which is a bonus.

This was a fantastic little game. There were parts of it when the graphics were so ridiculously good that my jaw literally dropped. I also liked that, when you died, you were never truly out of the game.

The graphics are brilliant and I thought that the gameplay was really intense; some fantastic Big Bads and great weapons. I also loved the antigravity piece (though it was confusing at times).

My only problem with the game was that it was far too linear. I wish that it was similar to Doom or Metroid in that you have a larger level with area maps as opposed to a straight path that pretty much guides you through the action.

I got tired of it after a while, but enjoyed it for the most part. I recommend it, too, for anyone else who hasn't played it.

I've noticed that already, i have a feeling they focused so much on the cool stuff like gravity, portals, spirit walking, that they didnt have the capacity for a more open ended game. If they make a Prey 2, i would count on more of that.

It was fantsatic. Worth every penny of the $3.99 that I paid. lol

Sadly, I beat it in three days of playing I believe.

It should last a lot longer for me, i only get about 30-40 minutes to play at a time.

$3.99?

I would have gladly paid full price...

But i cant afford anything but bittorrent ;)

However, once I have money, i will probably buy it off of Steam. I dont mind pirating games short term, but eventually i would like to make sure good developers get the dues. Being a programmer myself, i understand what gfoes into these things (to some degree).

However, if the game sucks, screw 'em.

I would have too. But being that it only lasted me 3 days, I think the price was fitting.

I get mine for the 360. bittorrent is useless for that. Although I wish it worked, so I could try the full versions of some of these games, without having to pay 8.99 for a rental.

Send a message via AIM to The Mothman
i thought it was fun, and brought something new to the table with the whole gravity and portal ideas, however it still managed to feel a little generic.
