Situations

I have such strange relations when it comes to people. I never know what to say, or how to act. I always mess up when I have to relate to someone, but I try my very best, each and every single time people approach me.

What's the strangest situation you've ever been in involving people?

Well, I find dealing with people can be constantly strange. Sometimes it's unpleasant and I don't want to get into it, and so I watch a movie or do something that doesn't involve dealing with peeples.

I hear what you're saying.

I always try to avoid people, but sometimes it is not that easy. I hate having to deal with people at school and whatnot, but I guess you can't go through life completely alone.

it's hard for me to talk to people sometimes, i get nervous and all stuttery. that's why i really only talk to people i've known for awhile and have gotten used to. if i talk to someone new or anything it's horrible, i say "um" a lot and when i'm asked a simple question i circle it for a good minute before actually saying the answer. that's my problem. i have to know you pretty well before i can have a remotely decent confersation.

I know how you feel, I used to be the exact same way. I actually feared talking to people I didn't know, so it excluded me from a lot of things. But it got better, and I learned how to communicate when I had something important to say.

A lot of people tend to say a lot of things they don't mean, so I've learned only to voice my opinion when I need to.

You know, I have discovered a type of person that I do not like to spend time with, work with, etc. It is the person who talks too much! Says too much about everything; has an opinion about everything; never stops yammering about something and ALWAYS has time to talk and talk some more. This irritates me because I feel this type of person is using me.

Sometimes I want to say, "You're boring me. This is not interesting to me. Please do something instead of yammering. You are dull." But you can't go around saying that to people, now, can you? Because that would be rude.

I'm pretty introverted, whenever I have to talk to someone I don't know, I guess you could say I have like half of a panic attack. It really sickens the hell outta me.

I usually can't think of anything to say when I first meet someone. And anything I do say sounds stupid to me. But once I'm comfortable with someone, I'm pretty open. Just don't put me in a room in front of a group of people and make me talk or give a presentation or anything, I hate that!!!!! And if someone is right behind me when I'm typing, I suddenly can't type for the life of me, and my typing is bad enough to begin with. Now, dogs, I can talk to them.

I used to be very much that way, very nervous around people and shy about talking to people I've never met ('specially girls!). But I have certainly gotten much more comfortable with these things over the years!

You might be surprised how a little practice can improve these communicative abilities. Quite often a shy person suffers from their shyness, and really wants to open up and communicate more. Try practicing a bit and see if it does something for you.

I'm finding it harder and harder to talk to strangers, but mostly because I keep thinking I'm much smarter than they are... probably should stop that. But I take first impressions seriously. I'm he or she fucks up, that's pretty much it.
