Hm..nothing will be better then the original.
but I mean, the only thing related to the exorcist thats new that I've heard of so far was called the exorcist, but, it was about an african american boy who gets possesed and it had nothing to do with Captain Howdy....I think its based on whats happened before the girl got possesed in the original movie. but yeah, i've never heard of another remake of the exorcist itself.

The excorcist: New Beginning was the story of Father Merrin's (Max Von Sydow in the original) first exorcist, which is referred to in the first movie. in the second movie, you find out that it was captain howdy, aka, pazuzu in both cases. In the second, the boy is ggrown up and played by James Earl Jones.
