I saw the 1st one like 7 years ago and i never saw it again. I thought it was pretty cool then. I watch Bloodlust a couple years ago and thought it was cool too, I have a really cool import Vampire Hunter D shirt that I haven't worn in forever.

i have both the D's and Blood ...

They stand out in horror anime because you can actually undrstand what the hell is going on.

Many of the others are so caught up in the funky horror imagery and violent rape that they forget to tell a coherent story.

Ninja Scroll is borderline ... not bad.

I have a hard time with a lot of anime because it often turns into "Hey, this would be cool, let's do it. Oh yeah, and add some more big, bobbling aniboobs."

But Vampire Hunter d was cool. I liked the talking hand, that was a nice touch. reminded me of the old man's voice in 12 monkeys.

Ninja scroll was VERY borderline. the coolness of the movies individual scenes made up for the fact that much of it was gibberish.

I personally like Akira best.

Akira was my introduction to anime (and probably a lot of others) and will always remain my favorite also.

On a different angle I absolutely adore the films of Hayao Miyazaki - especially Totoro and Spirited Away ....
Gorgeous films.
