Who were the mysterious extras in the game?

I can remember the Diary, The Assassin and the Author. Who were they? Were there anymore?

Honestly, it was somewhere in the back of my brain, but I truly had forgotten (or perhaps just given up hope of finding out :p)...At any rate, I'd really like to know

I'd also love it if it were possible for Diary and the Author to wrap up the saga.
