Trying to find movie from my youth

So I remember seeing a movie a few times as a kid, probably on the "Creature Double Feature" here in Mass..

The only thing I can remember about it was one of the main characters had a library with a large book that he would lure people to take a look at, then he would open it up and press the open pages onto the victims chest, burning them..

I also remember a scene where there was a big dinner where people are served wine, and one of the characters pours his glass out through a piece of cloth revealing shards of glass. This may or may not have been the same film, very possibly a different movie all together..

Sorry I can't remember much more about it, but I haven't seen it maybe 25 years..

Figured maybe someone here would know what I am talking about..
