Unhappy My Dog Died

Last night, I was on the computer, and my dad called me outside. My dog Spookie, was hassling really heavy, his left side was swollen up a lot, and his feet were swollen as well. We have no idea as to what actually caused this, but he died between 3 and 4 this morning. He was about 14 years old. That dog was like a brother to me.

:(

It's always tough, even more so when the pet has been with you for so long. My condolences.

That sucks :( It's always hardest with pets as they can't tell you if they're not feeling well or anything and so sometimes there is not much you can do. I'm sorry.

Sorry to hear that, it sounds like he might have been bitten by something, do you get snakes around your way?

We do, but it's a bit too cold for snakes. I was able to see my breath last night. And to my understanding, dogs have somewhat of an immune system to snake bites. We had a dog once that got bit in the face by a snake. Her face got really puffy, but she lived.

Our first thought was maybe that he got in a fight with the local coyotes, but there was no blood. Maybe he ate some ants? There were no ants in his vomit.

Every time he drank something, he would start throwing up. It was long, white and stringy. Pretty much just his stomach acid, though some of it had a brown tint.

None of it really makes any sense. :(
