In addition to my previous post...what the fuck are you talking about? Whether or not you like the music was probably what this post was about. Assuming your "buddy" exists, and assuming they did act like jerks to him, you could possibly dismiss his story as asinine/exhaggerated/possibly flawed. Or better yet, make up your own mind about them rather than having to be told what to think. Thinking is free, and relatively easy with practice.
