I have mixed thoughts on Halloween II. I love they picked up the second Halloween I left off. I thought the beginning was horrific & compelling. I thought it stuck to the 'cannon' of Halloween, and there were some excellent scenes (like Laurie and Michael in the Hospital parking lot, and then up to Michael through glass back in). But of course most of it in the hospital seemed pretty uninspired. Carpenter should have directed it, but maybe he thought the story was played out dry.
