I was pretty disappointed considering Deodato's other good film goes by the name of Cannibal Holocaust. Books could be written about that film, while Edge of the Park, to me was a fairly mediocre snippet of throwaway exploitation.
My biggest two beefs were that I thought it was annoying and far-fetched that the women got sexually involved with the attackers. I also thought the twist ending was ridiculous, way beyond the limits of credibility. (SPOILERS) There's no way they would put themselves at that level of risk, resulting in rape, torture and death, just to pull off that revenge gag. If they wanted to get revenge, there are much easier and safer ways to do it. That kinda ruined it for me. (/SPOILERS)
However, from a purely exploitation film, no-logic-required standpoint, I agree I'm severely low-balling this classic. The fact that I would be happy to watch it again, even looking forward to it, means I rated it too low.
