Haha I see where you're coming from.
I said exactly the same thing but I gave them a spin while traveling and haven't looked back. I find them quite convenient for a few reasons... mainly so I can read in bed when I get home at 4am from work without putting a light on and pissing off my girlfriend
I thought it would be strange reading off a tablet but once I found the right app it was all good.
