I watched it a week ago and found it okay; I got a few shivers down my spine. About a week before that, I watched the original (1989) and shat my pants at the bit where the woman screams in his face. That was really scary.
I think that's all you can hope for these days, a spine tingler. As adults we'll never be affected in the same way as were, watching The Exorcist at 13 years old.
The only way to be unsettled by cinema these days, is through extreme cinema. And fuck that! I tried watching AUM and turned it off after 15 mins, and I believe there is much worse on the market.
