The movies mentioned so far in this thread are the types of movies that made me a die hard horror fan. I'm not sure of the "Splatter Punk" definition though. I never heard of them being described that way.
Here are a few more that I think meet this criteria They're all pretty gory, and they have an odd sense of humor to them.
- Texas Chainsaw Massacre II: Greatest horror movie ever! This movie has EVERYTHING! Gore, humor, great performances, great dialogue, hip soundtrack... I could speak for hours and still not come close to giving this movie its proper respect.
- Return of the living dead: Can't talk about punk and horror without mentioning this one.
- Nightmare City: The term "genius" is often misused, but it's quite apt in referring to this masterpiece of Italian cinema.
- Class of Nuke 'Em High: Troma is usually hit or miss, this movie along with Poultrygeist, Toxic Avenger, Mother's Day, and Terror Firmer are worth checking out if you haven't already.
