I'm an atypical film viewer. Every time I sit down to watch a film I expect to be blown away. That's what I want from the film viewing experience. I don't watch a movie to have a mediochre time. I can get that staring at the walls. If a film is not going to impress me, why bother? In the corporate world of filmmaking today, it's hard for a film to come through the gristmill with a shred of genius intact. A lot of lacklustre films get made. That bothers me. And cranky old fart that I am, I will say it loud and clear when it happens.
