The film doesn't show anything close to what the book describes - but American Psycho has some simply revolting torture scenes. A car battery hooked up to a woman's nipples and the introduction of a rat to another woman's private parts spring to mind. Those are from the book. Like I said, the film goes nowhere near those extremes.
