To be honest it doesn't sound as if they were musicians at all, just bored little twerps with one too many beers under the belt. I know it's hard but try to stay positive here. At least you had your gig and people liked it, and that's more than what many bands out there get.
As for postponing the album, just remember that 'Chinese Democracy' was years past its original release date when it first came out and we all know that album was worth the wait. ^^
