Rogue (2007). This was simply a solid Aussie entry into the creature feature genre. The cinematography took full advantage of the stunning and vast beauty of the Northern Territory. With much ardor the crew earned their keep both on the sets and in the actual wilds, doing one in-water scene with reports of a 3 meter croc in the area, later confirm to be true. The acting was solid and believable, with extra tension from authentic fear helping to color their performances. The direction was more than solid; this guy knows how to shoot a beautiful picture. The cinematography, with the cinematographer given artistic license to shoot his wares, was impressive. The animatronics and CGI were also well done, with lots of actual motion study of real life critters and even water. The string score was used with genius, making for either a lilting lure of the splendor of the territory or adroitly creating an audible feel for the presence of our creepy creature. All things considered, this was a simple and effective horror story with a freak of nature as our anti-hero. Merci beaucoup.
