We were excited to report that Frank Darabont had won a series commitment over at US cable channel AMC for his take on zombie graphic novel The Walking Dead.
And now, as shooting kicks off, the channel has shoved some pictures of the shows’ undead creatures.

Robert Kirkman’s blood-splattered series follows life for a harried group of survivors in a world that has been brought to its knees by a plague of shambling, moaning, flesh-craving undead types.
Andrew Lincoln will play police officer Rick Grimes (with Jon Bernthal as copper partner Shane), who must gather and guide a disparate band of everyday folk as they seek out a place that’s safe from the hungry hordes. Pictures are one thing, of course. We’ll have to see them moving to find out if they can pull off the correct expression – like a drunk who’s lost a bet.
With Darabont writing, producing and directing the series, the first, 6-episode season should hit US screens in time for Halloween, and, if we’re very lucky and leave a finger under our pillows for the zombie fairy, we might get to see them a little quicker than AMC's Prisoner remake made it over to these shores.
