Okay, this is spawned by a conversation we've been having in the Classic Horror forum (yes, people DO post there!), in a thread Roshiq started about Frankenstein.
I mentioned an indie film I saw a few years ago that dealth with the Frankenstein motif. A few have mentioned they would like to track this film down, but I cannot remember the title. I'll attempt to describe what I can remember about the film, but I'm going to sound as clueless as the newbies who logon here with little info to go on.
I saw this between 2-4 years ago on cable. From my recollection it was recent- 1990- present day, but it may be older. I can't remember if I saw it on Fearnet, some other on demand offering, or even on the IFC. It was super low-budget. The entire cast consisted of 4-5 actors.
The plot involved a young doctor who lived in the countryside somewhere with his wife. It may have been Ireland, Canada or somewhere in Europe. Unbeknownst to his wife the doctor is experienting on dead sheep in the barn, attempting to bring them back to life. Eventually, something happens to the family dog and the doctor brings it back to life, which horrifies the wife.
There's a lot of talking in this film, it's slow, and there's some low-budget acting, but I enjoyed this film for its interesting take on the Frankenstein motif, and its DIY production. I've checked around on IMDB. IFC and can't find a clue what the name of this film is.
If anyone has seen this film, or might have a clue what it might be, the help would be appreciated.
