i agree that pixar markets their films poorly.
ratatouille, up, and expecially wall-e looked like complete shit from the ads i saw ... each film was fantastic. i guess they feel they have to appeal to the lowest common denominator (morons)
on the other hand - i did think Cars was complete shit... but thats just me.
