Welcome aboard, Mass! Oh you are gonna love this!!

Rules and Guidelines of HDC Survival Crysis

Each PC will start off with a default weapon, since combat is integral to Crysis.

Healing is restricted to Health Kits and special Medkits which you can acquire in your advancement.

The power of each weapon will be determined by the Class of the PC who wields it. So keep an eye out for that Update.

This is what happens when you go low/nil on any particular Attribute -

Strength - You cannot lift your weapons anymore. You cannot walk forward. You slump to the ground where your last position is and die a very slow death. (or a merciful one, if any dark creature chances upon you)

Ability - Your special abilities are gone. Your normal abilities are restricted/nullified. You may find yourself a sitting duck if/when a battle breaks out.

Speed - You cannot move freely. All movement is restricted to walking only. You cannot escape from bigger creatures who bear down upon you. You may find yourself a sitting duck if/when a battle breaks out.

Health - This is the most critical Attribute of all. If you lose all health you will die. No ifs, no buts.

Sanity - Losing sanity will, you guessed it, make you go insane. Slowly or rapidly, it will depend on your sanity points. Losing all Sanity will make you permanently insane and totally unpredictable. You might end up bashing your own brains in or shooting yourself in the head, whichever happens first.

Point to Note - You will find several items which will boost each of those 5 Attributes of your PCs from time to time. Keep an eye out for those and choose wisely. Your choices will either make or break your PC.

Combat depends on the situation, weapon(s) in hand, opponents and PCs. If you are facing a strong opponent, you are most likely to lose plenty of Attribute points unless you have a KO weapon/Special Ability. Though in many cases, Special Abilities might weaken an opponent only. Still, you might have to use that multiple times to overcome a challenging opponent. Be warned - Special Abilities WILL drain your Attributes.

There are PLENTY of items scattered around the island. They could be combat enhancements, new and improved weapons, Spells, Medkits...even common, everyday stuff which look quite ordinary but could be of immense help. Don't judge an item by its looks - many a time it could turn out to be a life saver.

The reverse also applies. There are items lying around which will negate you too. Maybe chew away your weapons, drain your Attribute points, etc. They are pretty unpredictable in their nature. Of course, it will all depend on luck...and your choices.

Special Bonus stages and Award Bonuses are also plenty. Clear a Bonus stage and win any/all Bonuses in that stage for yourself. Sometimes you might just stumble in a Bonus pack (how lucky would THAT be!), and sometimes you might have to fight tooth and nail for one. If a rival team member chances upon the Bonus pack(s), you might even have to fight him/her!

Teamwork, although not imperative in Survival Crysis, is important. It will help you in keeping more team-members alive because that increases your chances of advancement into the final Stages. There are Boss levels (yes you read that right!) that would require co-operation between Team members to overcome the Boss(es). Taking on a Boss by yourself WILL prove to be a FATAL mistake. Also, your choice of a team member (or members) will also be crucial in deciding the fate of a Boss battle. Make any wrong choices...you and your chosen Team members will lose, and ultimately die, at the hands of a Boss.

Normal combats will be dependent on your PC's stats and weapons. Be mindful of who you are facing at all times. Analysis of a situation, taking all choices into account, and giving the right answers...they are your mantras for success.

All the best to everyone!
