I'll admit: I haven't hated any of them yet. The most recent two have been ultra-convoluted and didn't bring anything new to the table AT ALL. That said, there are far worse horror flicks out there these days - and compared to other slasher sagas, it's holding up DAMN well.
Seriously, by the time Nightmare on Elm Street got to #5 it was pretty awful...Hellraiser was dead at 3...Friday the 13th was still holding up to an extent, but 5 was a step down and 6 was the nail in the casket - compared to these supposed "classics", I think we should be giving Saw more credit.
Still - I wouldn't be overly upset if part 6 was never made. I'll see it when it comes out - and, by comparison, I guess you could say I'm looking forward to it more than most other mainstream/big-budget horror releases this year - but that's only because the there's not a lot on the horizon. It'll be a bearable time waster and might have some decent gore, but I wont expect a lot.
