Thought I'd try help those poor unfortunates that create second accounts for themselves (especially after being booted off of a forum) and hope to keep up an appearance of not being the same person as before :

disclaimer : I myself cannot do this - nor would i bother - but as in sports ... those that cant do: coach.

1) you can try a goofy 'character' account. It's easier to maintain a different persona if you try to post in a non-personal manner ... like the traveller/it/etc ..
those guys who were created in fun.... for the purpose of entertainment. They successfully hid their personalities by 'acting' another part - they didnt let their personalities seep into the roll.

2) try not to repeat the posting pattern of the past ... like before you were banned :

i.e. ... if you never posted anything about horror (until you were on the spot) and were basically just attracted to drama ... then the next time you come back ... try not to repeat the same god damn thing.

3) try to act like you haven't been around before. there are certain areas 'newbs' dont go to at first - because as a rule they dont have the experience with the people here to know what's going on yet .. sort of a comfort level thing. if a new person heads into these territories (again - usually drama threads) it's a pretty big red flag.

4) PMing. the odd time someone new PMs someone else for direction on something.... usually a mod. When the 1st thing you do is PM like crazy .. it's a big giveaway that you're still trying to work on the connections you made before you got the foot up the ass.

5) try not to use the exact same 'speech' patterns as before. I'm the first guy to admit this is a tough one - i could never be able to do it - but i think if you're disconnected from reality enough - (to keep coming back) - you should be able to push yourself in this direction. Hell, with a little work you should be able to post in a completely different language !

6) try to post from another house completely. before long upgrades will be made where IPs will be traceable. so your old IP will be the same as the new account you just created. Seems like a lot of time and trouble if all of your bogus accounts will be deleted on sight the second this feature becomes live.


so, in conclusion - again - i'm not an expert - but hopefully some of these tips will be of use to those of you determined to be some kind of special asshole in the future. Hey - if you've got nothing better to do than to keep coming back to a place were you aren't welcome ... you might as well do it right !
