I try to go to the cinema once a week. Sometimes with the wife and kids, sometimes alone.
I go to my local revival house, The New Beverly Cinema on a regular basis. They show tons of classic exploitation and horror from the 60s 70s & 80s...and I usually go there alone, but the theater itself is like a little community, so I usually know a couple of people when I get there.
Adam Green, Joe Lynch, John & Clu Gulager, Ryan Rotten & Spooky Dan are usually in attendance for the semi-monthly Grindhouse Film Fest and the concession stand has real butter for the popcorn! Boozing and tomfoolery is encouraged and it's always a double-feature for $8!!!!
when I'm not there, I'm at the ArcLight theater, which is a little more expensive than most theaters, but the screens, seats, and sound systems are state of the art...the best you're going to find. There is also assigned seating and ushers who announce the film and patrol the theater. And it's 3 block from my apartment!!!!
