[*]what's the best job you've ever had and why?
Well, I've only had a few, being a young'un. However, before coming to college, I was a delivery boy for a hot dog joint called Kojak's, and that was really nice. I got free, greasy-ass food whenever I please, and my pay was all under the table, no taxes. I would work five hours a night and go home with around $120, cash. Plus, I got to drive around all the time and listen to music. Loud. It was a blast.
[*]what was the first horror film you remember seeing and what were your first impressions?
I have very vivid memories of watching The Bride of Frankenstein with my mom one afternoon when I was probably 7 or so. I just remember being so wholly absorbed by what was happening on screen, and was given a handful of emotions to cope with- fear, sorrow, joy, pity. It really had a profound impact on me. My mom doesn't remember watching the film st all. Too bad...
[*]who do you admire most (living or dead) in the world and why?
This will sound cliche, but I find my own dad to be the most patient, dedicated, happy-go-lucky person I've ever met, and I find myself daily shaping my attitude to try to match his lifestyle. Though his interests are completely opposite mine, he has always been respectful and supportive of everything anyone in my family has felt or wanted, no matter how rediculous.
I also look up to Martin Scorsese, Alfred Hitchcock, Sergio Leone, and Billy Wilder. :)
[*]what is your morning routine?
I get up at 8:15 (quietly so as not to wake my roomate). I shower (steaming hot and usually longer than I intend) and throw on a Beatles T and some jeans. I head over to our cafeteria at about 9:00, and then to my European Cinema class at 9:30. Not today, though, 'cause classes got cancelled due to snow!
[*]who is your favorite villain of all time?
Hmmm, that's a tough one. I'd say Max Cady (the original, played by Robert Mitchum) in Cape Fear. Though it isn't even remotely near the front og my favorite movies list, the story of Cady is just so brutal and terrifying, and so goddamn believable. To me, Robert Mitchum is the greatest villian actor of all time because every performance was so naturally chilling, and so intricately human. His role in Night of the Hunter is close behind.
[*]do you play any musical instrument(s)? if so, do you write your own material?
Ehhh...I played the trumpet in Jr. High, but it never clicked. I took up the guitar in High School, and still play it from time to time, but never got to the point where I was writing my own stuff. I would mostly learn songs from The Beatles, Stones, Steppenwolf, etc. and work on those until I was a pretty good copycat, nothing more.
Thanks for the questions, Fortunato!

*What will you do in the next year that you've never done before?
