Hmmm...
To feed...is to what?
Give food to? Provide with sustenance...etc?
So, what is to "give drink to"?
I was just pondering this the other day.
"water" seems a likely option, but, not really all that much so. It's more specific to water, and providing it to any manner of plant or creature...
I began to think of the word beverage...and thought about how it might be used in this sense, and my research turned up:
Bever
\Be"ver\, n. [OE. bever a drink, drinking time, OF. beivre, boivre, to drink, fr. L. bibere.] A light repast between meals; a lunch. [Obs.] --Beau. & Fl.
Er...bit of random junk there, but it seems a likely contender...however, still doesn't seem to cover it entirely...is this word, as close as we can come to the liquid equivalent of "feed"?
Maybe Waver? I 'unno...
