No way. Here is the problem with
Shaun: the 1st half to 3 quarters is good, but then when they get to the Winchester it takes a bad turn. IT GETS SILLIER. It should have gone the other way and turned into more serious of a film, and then lightened up and had a light ending like it did. You cannot successfully build tension and simultaneously have the characters taking the plot developments less and less seriously. It made me not care about the film or characters, which I had previously during the first portion of the film.
I've argued this to some of my friends, and those of them that love British comedy tend to say something like "that's British humor man...". Then I say "well OK, if I just don't like British humor then why did I love the first half of the film?".
