The Friday the 13th franchise bottomed out with Manhattan & Jason Goes to Hell, so naturally, there was nowhere to go but up, right? Jason X takes itself considerably less serious than it's predecessors which is a good thing. At least they realized they were making a cheesy popcorn movie so they loaded it up with all kinds of creative kill scenes. It's a pretty entertaining flick but don't expect to be scared or see a great movie. It's pure cheesy fun.
