Is Last House on the Left "urbanoia"???
Great suggestions all around! Lately I've been doing a scene by scene analysis of Last House on the Left and trying to figure out if it fits with these other "urbanoia" films. In some ways it's a "reverse urbanoia" film since the murderers are city thugs and Mari comes from a relatively rural area. Maybe this reveals something about these films that goes deeper that rural settings and toothless locals.
Anyway, I can't wait to check out some of these films (escpecially Poor Pretty Eddie - against your advice Doc!). Let's keep them coming if we can, this is fascinating stuff. I actually have a number to add myself that I found in a book called "Nightmare Movies."
