Okay, if one can include monsters, the Balrog from Lord Of The Rings was pretty stunning to see. Sure scared all the goblins away. ;)

Best horror related monster for me was probably the creature from Carpenter's "The Thing". It was just grotesque the way it caught its victims. Scary film indeed and worth seeing.
