These are good films, some of them are great. Of course there's a ton of crap out there, but that's just because everyone is content-starved. Too many things made too fast simply to fill time, but good stuff is there and more of it is coming.

How many of you "horror fans" went to see Bug this weekend instead of Pirates of the Caribbean? You can bitch about it or you can help the situation by GOING TO SEE THE FILMS IN THE THEATER!
Ehh, I tend to agree for the most part, except that this horror fan, living in a small town, is not willing to waste gas money driving an hour to two hours to a place where they are actually showing, to pay increasing ticket prices to see it on a smaller screen, in a smaller seat surrounded by many irritating people that seem disinterested in actually watching the film....

I see MAYBE one-two films in the theater a year, and I usually regret it. I was planning to see Grindhouse, but not showing anywhere in the area. Also 28 Weeks Later. Not showing in the area. Yes, we are actually going to see Pirates of the Carribean, why? Because it is one of TWO films showing in a town that refuses to cater to our taste in film....:p

But no horror is not dead. Yes, I often lament my favorite time period in horror, and yes there is more crap than ever before, and even the films that are highly praised I often find to be highly overrated (*coughSawHightensioncough*:D ). But I do think there is just as much good out there; just not as much originality, or love going into it. There is so much out there now, as has already mentioned. Its still there though, you just have to look for it, and be willing to watch a lot of crap to do so, which I have always been fond of doing anyway. I would just rather do it in the comfort of my own home.....;)
