East of Eden is FAR more entertaining actually, there is so much going on in that novel, and the characters are so very complex. I also think Steinbeck created just about the perfect example of a sociopath iin this novel. Steinbeck definitely did approach his characters in a different way here.

Makes sense.
It's not that I felt a kind of disconnect.
It just wasn't that good in my opinion.
I'm actually looking forward to reading East of Eden, but I have to order it.
I can't find it anywhere.
