I made a thread about this awhile back...ShankS found a way around it for me.
You just cant use BB Code...format the link like this, and you should be all set:
<a href="http://horrordude.proboards80.com/index.cgi">INSERT TEXT HERE</a>
Replace INSERT TEXT HERE with whatever you want it to say, copy ad paste it to your sig. Should work:)
