Noc, you have many people here who can relate to what you are going through. In my case, the holiday was a 4th of July a few years ago, and the relationship was a marriage. Bitch caused me more pain than I thought possible and walked off with half of everything. The only bright spot is that no kids were involved. Anyway, my only advice is to give yourself some time to feel. It will get better, but for now, give yourself permission to acknowledge the loss and mourn it.
