Unfortunately, we tried that back before WW2. America had a ncie little policy of isolationism for a while, then the japanese saw it as a sign of weakness (i think...) and bombed the hell out of one of our naval bases.
i think the important thing is picking our battles better, like not getting involved in personal vendettas...... even if he tried to have your dad killed....
having UN backing is important. if the locals want to kill the people occupyuing their country, spread them thin. if Al Qaeda had to deal with the entire un, they would have 1 guy with a firecracker in each country.
but no matter what we do, we are screwed. what we as a country have done in thepast will always haunt us.
