Okay, HALLOWEEN experts--come forth.

Okay. I asked this question before and I was referred to several DVD geek sites because they supposedly knew. But they don't know, so I'm asking again.

About, oh, seven or eight years ago, there was a Newly Remixed HALLOWEEN in Dolby Surround etc. released on VHS. Maybe you remember it. I think it was also THX. Alan Howarth, a really amazing music and sound guy, did a complete remix on the film. BUT! But................

He also re-performed and rerecorded all the music and added new orchestrations that made the theme music sound more like that in HALLOWEEN II. He also changed some of the stings, beefed up the gunshot sound effects, added heavier thunderclaps, new cricket effects, and so on. In other words, he changed the sound elements completely. From top to bottom.

Sounds really nice. But it's not the original.

So here's the question: Do the most recent "HALLOWEEN" DVDs feature this newly redone soundtrack with new elements...or do they feature a stereo remixed soundtrack featuring only the ORIGINAL sound elements as we heard them in 1978?

The original theme music for example was very simple, primitive, even, and that to me was why it worked.

I don't wanna buy or even rent any DVDs till I find this out.

Okay, geeks! Show me some stuff!
