Deep Rising
I have no clue how Stephen Sommers got a job after this putred mess. Nothing was right in this movie. Everything fell off of the boat and sunk to the bottom of the ocean (sorry for the pun). The directing was off-key, and the camera angles were basically the same the whole movie. I don't remember ever seeing any special loops or angles in this movie whatsoever. I will admit that for a Disney flick (yes, it was distributed by Disney), it was pretty bloody. This doesn't mean the goreaholics are getting a filler. Besides the skeleton room scene and the melting face scene, there wasn't too much blood or gore. But, like I said, it was surprising to see some. The acting wasn't good at all. Even Famke Jannsen didn't do a good job. Everybody was just there for their paychecks. And I hope it was a big one. Because I wouldn't have gone for it without some big bucks involved. All in all, Deep Rising sunk lower than the bottom of the ocean. It sunk the whole way down to Hell. Poor Satan!

Wolf
I can appreciate this movie for what it tried to do. It tried to make An American Werewolf in London for the Murder She Wrote old-timers and fans. If it wasn't for Jack Nicholson's incredible performance, all would've been lost here. Now, I can see how people would be interested in this movie. It builds up the characters most of the movie, it gets into the story pretty quickly, and Nicholson gets bit by the werewolf in the first two minutes of the film. But, the pacing was too slow for me. The directing was a nice touch, but only for the beautiful scenery the director got to show us, such as the full moon being covered up by the clouds. Besides the directing and Nicholson's performance, I don't think I could've made it through Wolf.
