Eddie

Eddie pretty much sums up what a feel-good comedy is to me. Now, a lot of you guys here may call a feel-good comedy a movie that makes you feel good inside. To me, a feel-good comedy is a movie in which I enjoy, but don't laugh, or laugh just a little. And Eddie, like mentioned before, sums up what a feel-good comedy is to me. Going into my viewing of Eddie, I wasn't sure what to make of it. Wasn't looking forward to it being a classic, or anything that close to being a classic. I doubted it even be average fair. But, once the credits rolled, I had a big smile on my face! Now, I wouldn't declare Eddie a classic, but it is one of my favorite comedies. Well, one of my favorite feel-good comedies. What made Eddie work was the cast. All of them were great! From Whoopi Goldberg to Frank Langella to Dennis Farina to the NBA players (I'm not shitting you), they all worked well. They were the ones that put the smile on my face. Sure, I didn't like Eddie's best friend, but she only appeared in three to four scenes max. On a different note, I'd like to point out that Frank Langella reminded me of Burt Reynolds in this movie. He didn't look like Reynolds, but his character reminded me of him. The way he acted and the way he dressed, automatically made me think of Reynolds. Hell, they could've replaced Langella with Reynolds! That would've been great! But, Langella was great in his role, so it didn't really matter. All in all (and one and one), Eddie turned out ot be a surprising comedy that came righ toff of the bench and made the winning basket!

4 and a half stars out of 5
