OK - so i'm playing basketball with some 'academic-types' the other day and in the midst of general chatter i mentioned something about 'not getting much work done since i'm always on HDC' - well, this starts a long conversation (mainly among them) about the effect of message boards on people and why people go on message boards . . . blah blah blah

ANYWAY, one of the points they insisted on was that people "go on messageboards/chatrooms because they can be different than they are in 'real life'" - no one knows who you are and you can create some new persona. . . .

SO, my question to the board members - how different are you in your regular life than you are here on HDC?
