I'm currently working on this.
Title:Morbid Art
Actors:Protagonist, no bloody clue, but also Willem Dafoe, Alicia Witt, Robert Duvall and a sort of uncastable father
Genre:Psychological horror
Plot:a medium and professional painter in his early thirties loses his father and begins to get the psychic powers he's tried to deny back in spades. The spirits of his dead family members and his former mentor begin to encourage him to kill himself and tell him he's more dead than living. He's also left chosing between his new love and his college girlfriend who od'ed.
Outcome:He realizes that the spirits are returning because of the resentment of his mentor. (Willem Dafoe, I guess) Making a bold decision, he puts his old love and his family to rest.
Why is my movie better?: Higher emotional stakes, less jumpy scares
