A few days ago I had a dvd burner installed.
I have managed to burn off HUGE amounts of data, comics, music...etc, and also to burn video files (eg - camera stuff and downloaded clips) onto a dvd, which plays just fine...looking only a little stretched, as I would expect from avis - but overall acceptable.
The PROBLEM - Commercial dvd replication.
The product came with NERO for burning, I was also told to have a look at "dvd shrink", which I have done.
Thus far, I have tried ALL of the following under both programs, one by one:
*Direct dvd to dvd
*dvd to pc to dvd
*Both of the above after removing subtitles and extras
*Both of the above, at both 8X then 4X, the lowest speed.
*"compressing" a little
Also, with dvd shrink, I have selected some kind of option that apparently looks over the data extra carefully, basically resulting in a burn that took about 3 hours, on 4X.
So, they seem to burn ok, except for one thing...when I play the movies themselves, every 5-10 seconds, they'll look as though they have a slight glitch, in conjunction, the sound will go a little funny just over the time this interruption is evident on the screen.
This happens with the copies I attempt to make with both my commercial dvds, and even with my uh....backup copies.
**NB: I endorse piracy in no way whatsoever, and only intend to make "backup" copies of movies that I own, for personal use**
This is the dvd burner in question:

...and my current system specs are described (to some extent) beneath here.
So, if there's any suggestions anyone has, or explanations for why I might be having this problem, answers would be appreciated. Save the bullshit wanna-be "funny" replies for other threads, legitimate info only please.
Thankyou.
