the very 1st star wars movie was great.. the second one pretty good .. the 3rd one on up - meh.
The fan hype has taken on a life of it's own .. driving a lot of people away from liking the films .. i'm very close to being one of them.
They do have their important place in film history .. the 1st star wars set a new standard in FX than even a layman can recognize.
its a fine movie ...
star trek has a different charm .. the movie form of a TV show most of us (older folk) grew up with ... so we had a built in affection for the characters ....
again though .. the hard core fans ... loser weirdos.
i think star wars will always be more important .. star trek more loved.
i like and dislike them both equally but for different reasons.
