i find you can always difuse the stupidity by ignoring it but a large number of members take the bait and 'rise to the occasion'
the stupid threads are always the longest running ones with the most attention.
everyone wants to let in with their self righteous diatribes (much like i'm doing right now) and end up dragging the shit all over the forum.
I either ignore it or attempt to difuse it with a joke or a distraction. I think i hold the record here as the person who has derailed more threads than anyone else here.... sometimes its a skill i can put to the good of the forum... but more often its just annoying ...
